Lincoln acted as secretary. Other articles about Lincoln, Richard Ogelsby and Richard Yates. Includes the published,1854 diary of Col. Baker kept while travelling from St. Joseph, Mo. to California. Newspaper photos of houses, buildings and dress styles of the 1800's. Accounts of the death of Richard Oglesby and John McClernand. Stories and obituaries of many other socially and politically prominent people. Old settlers' published reminiscences about the area and life in the past.
